“All material desires are rooted in lust. This lust is a blazing fire that no amount of sense gratification can extinguish. The fire of lust, however, can be put out– bythe cooling waters of love for God.”

About

Eating can be a spiritually enriching experience. Sacred texts teach that offering simple vegetarian items—like a fruit, flower, leaf, or water—with devotion is pleasing to God. As you cook, focus on preparing the meal as an offering to God, not just for personal or family enjoyment. Avoid tasting the food while cooking, except to adjust seasonings, and if you do taste, spit it out afterward. Set aside a separate plate or portion specifically for the offering.

Then, from the core of your heart, mentally or verbally present the cooked food to God. In this way, the meal becomes spiritual food.

In this section, we’ll share practical, affordable vegetarian recipes using ingredients readily available in local markets.
