How can meditation help me make decisions on a practical level?
Let’s say you need to make a decision or come up with a solution to an especially difficult personal or work-related problem, and you’re in anxiety and frustrated because you can’t decide what to do.
Instead of thinking obsessively about a problem until our heads are about to burst, or tossing and turning all night long, just completely put it aside. We all need insights to solve our problems, but we can’t experience an insight just by the strength of our minds and intelligence.
Instead of struggling in the muddy waters of the mind, endeavoring to find a solution to a problem, take your mind and immerse it in Transcendental Sound.
When your mind tries to go back onto the problem, then gently bring it back to the comforting sounds. Then from this rested condition, a solution or decision will arise from within, like a bubble of oxygen that naturally rises up from the mud on the bottom of a lake.
And your problem, which previously seemed so insurmountable, will either burst into insignificance like that very same bubble, or at least you can see a clear path toward the solution.
The result of this practice will be something more than just a fleeting sense of happiness: It will be much deeper and long-lasting. You’ll find yourself able to see things more clearly and soberly, and you’ll begin to make decisions based on this new clarity of vision rather than out of the older, darker feelings of anxiety, fear, or anger.
When is enough enough?
No amount of sensual pleasure will ever really satisfy a person, so no amount of economic development will ever be considered ‘enough.’ No matter how much people have, no matter how much they consume, they always want more.
This endless personal craving manifests as ever-increasing material consumption, which causes poverty and destroys the environment. Even if it were physically possible for one to consume all the food, water, and fuel in the world, he still would not be satisfied. Material food cannot satisfy one’s inner spiritual craving. Due to the desire for sense pleasure, people try to conquer nature but end up destroying the world.
The solution is actual happiness, actual enjoyment and actual satisfaction. If you have actual satisfaction, the side effect will be that your body will be in better health and the planet earth will be in better health.
The environment will be in better condition because you will be satisfied within yourself and will not be incessantly searching for satisfaction in endless consumption.
The desire to be happy and satisfied is natural. If you don’t have this spiritual source of satisfaction within yourself, you will be trying to find satisfaction through sensual pleasures and endless consumption.
According to the yoga teachings, our nature is to love, and we are spiritual in essence. As such, we cannot be happy simply living for ourselves and trying to achieve happiness through endless consumption. By understanding that we are spiritual with a loving nature, we can simultaneously understand that we cannot ever achieve real happiness just by living for ourselves.
We must awaken our spiritual love for the Supreme; and motivated by that love, work for the welfare of others and the planet. Such an attitude of selfless service brings satisfaction, actual happiness, and good to the world and ourselves.
We are always anxious for some actual spiritual happiness to satisfy our aching, empty hearts
People do so many things to avoid facing the reality of their drowning condition. They like to think, “I’m okay! I’m okay!”
These people are like fish jumping out of the water to escape a shark and while they’re out of the water they yell at each other, “We’re okay! I’m okay! You’re okay!” Then they sink back down.
People think they’re okay when really they’re suffering from inner emptiness and anxiety. They have no real security, no real shelter.
A person thinks he has security in his home and then the bank takes it. He thinks he has security in his money, but it keeps losing its value and he realizes he’s just holding a bunch of paper.
So he thinks, “Well, maybe I’ll buy gold.” Then the gold prices fluctuate. Then he thinks, “If I lose all else, I’ll still have my health.” Then that starts to fade. Then he may conclude, “At least I have my wife and children to care for me.” But his wife dies and his children rarely ever contact him.
Chaitanya Mahaprabhu says that a person can fearlessly dive deep by taking shelter in the Holy Names of God. In other words, a person doesn’t need to go deep alone. He goes with God if he takes God’s Names.
When you’re up, chant the Holy Names. When you’re down, chant the Holy Names
If we want to have a lasting & healthy relationship with someone, di ba we stick with them through thick & thin?
Whether sa kaibigan natin, sa partner, o sa pamilya, maipapakita natin na mahalaga sila sa atin kung nakikirelate pa rin tayo sa kanila no matter what.
Fair-Weather Friend
God is Our Real Shelter
Always Take Shelter in God
Pabago-bago ang sitwasyon natin sa mundo. Sometimes we’re up, sometimes we’re down.
And the chanting of the Holy Names is the constant & stable yoga process para malampasan natin ang duality of happiness & distress sa mundong ito.
Pag masaya ka, chant lang.
Pag malungkot ka, chant pa din.
Haribol!
The Supreme Lord is our only real refuge from the miseries of this world
Okay!
Maganda, matalino, mayaman, fit & healthy –
In this world, you can’t have it all.
Kahit sabihin nating you have beauty, brains, wealth, health, a peaceful mind, harmonious relationships, and everything a person can wish for in life…
Still, you are subject to old age and, ultimately, death.
Sounds so negative, but it’s the reality.
Our existence in this world is full of miseries.
Where can we find the peace, happiness & satisfaction our hearts are longing for?
So where will we find real shelter?
In God. He is our only real refuge from the miseries of this world. Let us always remember God & take shelter in Him.
How?
Through the very simple & easy yoga process of Chanting His Holy Names.
Haribol!
In this age of quarrel, chaos, and confusion, there’s no other way than the chanting of the Holy Names of the Lord
We are bombarded with information overload through the internet, with emotional overload dala ng problema sa pera, sa bahay, sa school, sa office, sa relationships…
Paano ba tayo magreset? Mag-unwind?
Meditate on the Holy Names of God regularly. Kahit 1 hour a day lang, bago magtrabaho o bago matulog, kalimutan mo muna ang lahat,
at magmeditate sa Holy Names.
If you make it a habit,
you will gradually experience feeling calmer, less irritable & more peaceful within.
Apply it to your lives on a daily basis
and you will notice a significant difference in yourself, in the way you view life, and in the way you treat others.
God is the solution to your emptiness, loneliness, & purposelessnes
Laging bitin. There’s no actual satisfaction.
Temporary Relief Versus Actual Satisfaction
Matter cannot satisfy spirit. Material enjoyment can never satisfy you, the soul. The soul can only be truly satisfied by spiritual happiness, and the source of this happiness is a loving relationship with God.
You can develop your spiritual relationship with God. The process is very simple & enjoyable – regularly hearing & chanting His Holy Names.
Haribol!
The Desert of Material Existence
Sa sobrang uhaw natin, we can’t distinguish anymore if the water hole we’re seeing is real or not. We start running excitedly & desperately toward the mirage, only to find out that it’s not real. We then feel disappointed, frustrated & angry.
But then another mirage comes our way, and we temporarily forget our frustration. We start hoping again that it’s real. Kaso pag dating natin doon, mirage lang pala ulit. And it goes on and on all throughout our lives – one temporary happiness after another, one temporary “love” after another hanggang sa mapagod na tayo sa kakahabol.
Mirage of Material Happiness Versus Oasis of Spiritual Happiness
Steady ang water supply dito so it’s able to support vegetation.
Ang Yoga Meditation o ang chanting of the Holy Names ang nagsisilbing oasis & shelter natin sa gitna ng desert of loneliness, emptiness, fear, purposelessness, envy, greed, anger, atbp.
You have the freedom to choose – you can chase mirages all your life, or drink from the nourishing oasis of spiritual love for God.
Please choose wisely.
Chant the Holy Names! Haribol!
God Is The Lifeboat That Keeps Us From Drowning In This Ocean Of Miseries
When we start practicing yoga, we start seeing things as they are. We can distinguish a mirage from the real thing. May reality check na tayo kumbaga.
The Yoga View — Seeing Things As They Are
When we practice Yoga, we start acting according to our real identity. We then start treating others with respect & real concern. We take care of our loved ones’ material & spiritual well-being.
Yes, we still have to function in society. We still have our duties in maintaining the material well-being of those who depend on us and whom we love… But at the same time, we are also aware of the temporary nature of this world.
So, yes. We have to talk about the negative because the reality is that we are suffering – whether we see it or not… whether we admit it or not. If not now, suffering will certainly come later. No one is immune to or exempted from the duality of happiness & distress in this world.
The Gift of Yoga
Whenever we encounter loneliness, suffering, disappointment, frustration, hatred, anger, depression and all the negative experiences in this world, we have a steady buffer – Yoga wisdom & love in practice. We understand the suffering nature of this world, so maiiwasan na natin ang overthinking, nervous breakdown, suicidal thoughts, etc.
We are sharing this gift of yoga wisdom freely to everyone, to those who are suffering & to those who think they are okay. And because love is based on freedom, the choice to accept or reject this gift remains yours.
However, if you feel like you’re drowning in this deep ocean of suffering, we’re glad to help. Make meditation a habit and let the Holy Names lift our burdened hearts. Haribol!
Feeling broken inside? Meditation can heal you
If you feel like damaged goods right now, you’re not alone. Know that each one of us have secret traumas & fears that often go way back to our childhood. We just try to cover this up with a “strong” facade. We pretend that we’re okay, even when we’re really not. Not by a long shot.
Sa totoo lang, deep down, we still feel like the helpless, vulnerable child that we once were. We may appear all grown up & mature on the outside, but inside we’re broken.
The more unlucky ones suffer from both emotional & physical trauma. Nevertheless, an emotional beating is just as brutal as a physical one. Nadadala natin to hanggang sa pagtanda natin.
And unfortunately, di man natin napapansin o sinasadya, pero natatransfer o nagagawa din natin ito sa iba, usually sa kids natin.
So how do we deal with past emotional traumas, and thus stop this toxic transference to the people around us?
How do we move forward from being ‘damaged goods’? We are, after all, persons and not goods. We’re not objects.
How do we find our real value as a person? Kasi sa totoo lang, we just want to feel safe, secure & valued. We just want to love and be loved. We just want to be happy, right?
Is it even possible to achieve all this despite our past emotional traumas?
Through the simple process of MEDITATION, it is possible. Sabi nga, “What is impossible for man is possible with God.”
By our own strength, we can’t truly heal. But with God’s UNCONDITIONAL LOVE & support, we can move mountains.
MEDITATION will make you realize your true spiritual value as a precious child of God. You are not hopeless. You’re not forgotten. You have value in His eyes. No matter how imperfect you are, His LOVE for you remains UNCONDITIONAL.
If you take one step towards God, He will take a hundred steps towards you. Take that first step towards HEALING & REAL LOVE. Contact us anytime for FREE MEDITATION sessions.
